FPS average?

I think your pc is held back (fps wise) because it has 1 stick of ram.

1050Ti, Single-channel RAM - this doesn't exactly help performance.

What games are your friend playing? What resolution? What FPS is he getting now?

Well what fps ARE you getting? What type of preformance are you expecting?

There are many things wrong with this build.

Single channel with ryzen

250gb hdd is slow for texture loading.

but yet you have a 650watt PSU. So ethier you spent tons on you Power Supply or just had one laying around

What speed are you running your ram at?

Before his computer would crash now he is getting very low FPS do you think if I gave him two of my 8 gb sticks and took his 16 stick I would see a downgrade in performance myself? I have three sticks of 8gb ram two Corsair sticks and one hyperX

I think you should start with saying what resolution your friends plays in and what FPS he's getting.

did you uninstall the old drivers with ddu and install the new 1050ti ones?

thats the culprit (the single channel ram also kills your fps)

I’m very sorry I’m just trying to communicate and I understand the frustration my friend is very mad at me and I’m very disappointed in myself

okay well

Uninstall the bad radeon drivers with DDU, then install the 1050ti ones in NVIDIAS website

Also tell your friend too not be rude, we have basically found the reason why the FPS is bad. Tell him to calm down and be patient.

Also a 2nd stick of RAM would help alot

So to recap from what everyone is saying:

1.single channel ram is bad (get two sticks) and yes, you yourself will notice an fps drop if you put it in your own system.

2. uninstall bad drivers and install the lastest from NVIDIA'S website.

3. grab a beer

4. profit

Ok so a couple things to start

What 650watt psu. Please give us the model.

One stick of ram on ryzen really hurts the performance

A gtx 1050ti isn't exactly a great gpu but 7days ran fine on my by now ancient hd 7870 fx 8320 system and the 1050ti is a bit better than that.

people people

stop acting like single channel RAM is the end of the world, it's only about... 10-20% perf difference at best?

i would recommend starting with DDU and reinstalling the latest drivers from nvidia's site

and do compare your results with people on youtube, see if it's expected behaviour or not at all

as sometimes low fps is just due to your hardware's capability and no amount of fixing will boost it

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

Well, just DDU and install Nvidia drivers that should very likely fix the issue.

yeah, I agree, sure dual channel ram is preferable but the difference isn't that big, having the totally wrong drivers installed should have a much bigger impact on performance. 🤷🏼
