Talking about the RTX 3060 launch yesterday. Here in Europe it was a nightmare again. Normal webshops having them in stock just for outrageous prices ($600+), Amazon being sold out instantly (more normal prices, but still too high) and the only normal priced model being a Inno3D model for $360, which sold out in a whimp (2 minutes exactly).

The way the card is configured (and all RTX cards, I'm sure it applies to GPU's in general but I haven't checked) is they had the option of 6GB or 12GB - the memory arrangement is in 6GB chunks. I presume it was too expensive to redesign the board or they would have. The way they've done it maximises profits from a business perspective IMO (12GB vram does cost more than giving 6GB but weakening the "Nvidia number 1" with one of the most popular GPU's isn't worth the risk when they can give 12GB and make the consumer pay for it).

 

 

Side note: I want to buy this card for crypto mining (at MSRP) - good job Nvidia????? (half hash rate is 30-35 and the proper crypto miners seem confident they can bypass it hence buying them up). So really, Nvidia aren't really fixing any problems but increasing there ability to make money at the expense of everyone else. THis type of shit should be illegal for companies of this size. It'd be nice if after a company reached a huge size (think msoft, amazon etc, facebook) they should be held to much higher standards and be less for profit & more for benefiting people - the system is rigged so badly that these companies will still do fine even if they give more back to the people.. (IMO at least)

no? gtx 1650 is worse than gtx 970

 

if i recall correctly the most popular card was either 1660 or 1660 super. that was pretty dump buy after the rx 5600XT release.

I tried the Newegg Shuffle today for a 5950X...didn't win.  Later I realized that the 3 MSI cards listed were $10 over MSI store MSRP (3060), $20 over MSI store MSRP (3070) and $70 over MSI store MSRP (3090)!  I didn't check the other cards listed for today's raffle.

 

The 5950X was spot on at $799.  Is Newegg quietly trying to jack up the price of the GPU's?  Have they done this since the Shuffle Hussle began?
