How long should it take for a company to process an order after it has been paid for?

zay_dad

On January 5 2021 I ordered computer parts from a manufacturers website. When i ordered the estimated delivery date was january 22 2021. Now it is March 4 2021. It still has not shipped.

What should i do? It is basically the final piece of my dream pc.

There is more to it than that. But i do not know if i should name the company. And if i say any more most people would be able to guess.

What, specifically, did you order?

No, it isn't....

Edit: Just realised you meant the expected delivery date, not today's date.

Thanks for reading all this by the way!

By the way, my desktop is a docked laptop. Get over it, No seriously, I have an exterrnal monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset, ethernet and cooling fans all connected. Using it feels no different to a desktop, it works for several hours if the power goes out, and disconnecting just a few cables gives me something I can take on the go. There's enough power for all games I play and it even copes with basic (and some not-so-basic) video editing. Give it a go - you might just love it.

What part and what company? Sounds like it could be a GPU and isn't surprising due to the shortage. Hard to help unless you name these things.

What matters if you say the company?  Will they cancel your order and your life?  Stop watching movies 🙂

Depends if you can get the part anywhere else.  Weigh the time, price and return factors and make your call.

Really, too many variables to just say "OMG March 4, OMG!!".

Edit:  Aftermarket Cooling?  Can you not get the radiator, pump/res, fittings, plates, etc elsewhere?

Looks to me like its just been delayed, I would wait until march 4th and if it doesn't arrive or you haven't heard anything by then give them a call.

What's the name of the company you ordered from? Might be helpful as it could be a dodgy site.

I would email/call their customer support and ask for an update. There definitely isn't anything else on the shipping page indicating why it hasn't arrived? As I said it sounds like a delay which could be because they don't have any stock in for that particular product right now. I have had it happen to me loads without any notification from the company, annoying as it then involves chasing them down to see what's up.

Supply chain change would be a very plausible reason for a delay.

As other's have said, I'd wait to the new target delivery date and see if you get any updates.

Everything is a little slow right now. I’d just wait a week and check. Maybe you’ll be supersized with a package.

Sounds like they don't want to ship because they figure they can get more from others... I'd call them, by phone, you know, the thing you use to post on Twitter, you can also use it as phone (quite handy) 😉 but anyways, do not mention what I just said, just ask them if they will fulfill the order and if something is wrong.

Good luck.
