Efficiency has nothing to do with quality. Even a Bronze psu can be better than Platinum.

Corsair RMx

I know the warranty and the efficient does not matter about the quality but..

I see the RMx is only 5 years.. the others have 10-12 years..

The RMx has a 10 year warranty. The old, long discontinued, yellow label RM had a 5 year warranty.

I skipped the RMX because of all things... Newegg reviews. Between DOA, dead after days.. to much negativity for this guy.

So I don't want to waste my money, and I've hurt a Corsair unit in the past, though I didn't pursue an RMA.

Newegg reviews ? They are not reviews, they are just user experience with a particular product. And there is no reason to avoid the RMx as it is a good psu. You can look at places like Toms Hardware and Techpowerup etc for actual reviews.

Yeah, user reviews. Guys who don't know how to use and connect a psu properly.

Obviously I didn’t base my decision solely on Newegg reviews. As noted they aren't reviews but experiences. I spent two weeks reading, comparing, and becoming a little more informed as I haven’t upgraded since having kids nearly a decade ago. I don’t have anything against Corsair, I’ve owned their products in the past. I wanted the best I could get within my budget.

My budget would have been where the RM850x sat which was 179.99 and 7.99 shipping and tax was 197 beaver bucks. That would have got me the PX-750, GX-850 or Prime GX-750. I was also looking at ion 760p as well as a couple of 650s. I missed out on the PX but is now back in stock. Availability is quite limited @.ca which is a bummer. I was set on a platinum level PSU but my Prime should be pretty close.. I probably could have gotten away with a 650 but I like to overclock various platforms and 750 might be cutting it thin with some older hardware. Worst case scenario is my kid gets a new PSU for his rig. He is 8 now and warranty is good until he is 20 😄

12 year warranty lol 👌🏻

@jonnyGURU made this is the guy with TT joke 😉

Come on man, this is Corsair,I doubt there are units with DOA.

Please do not take offence for my apparent confusion or rudeness,it's not intent me to be like that,it's just my BPD,be nice to me,and I'll return twice better,be rude and usually I get easly pissed of...I'll try to help anyone here,as long as it's something I dealt with, and even if you think I'm rude or not polite, forgive me,  it's not me it's my BPD.

Thanks for understanding.

Corsair SF had a persistent issue for a little while that could cause units to be DOA for a specific (small) batch range. Don't fanboy.

What is the price difference between the three PSUs?

Why do you need 1000W?

How many and what GPUs are you planning to run? With a 1000W, you are looking at like 3 (or 4) GPUs worth.

If you are going to futureproof, 850W is typically plenty.
