AM4 AIO on a TR4 Socket

I have a PC here bought from a builder, one of several that were sold and supplied with 1950x and Corsair H115i 280mm AIOs, we had only spec'd the threadripper not specific cooling.

One of them started to overheat and sure enough on closer inspection the AM4 water block is not nearly large enough to cover the IHS

In my head this cooler should never have been sold with a TR4 CPU and Corsairs website along with retailers don't suggest this is suitable for TR4

Am i going crazy and missing something

It appears to be like many other AIOs out there that are compatible with AM4 and TR4 which have a smaller contact surface than chip. If you wanted more surface area over the chip you really need to get something more specific for the Threadripper.

The retailer has agreed its a mistake on their part and agreed to replace it and the other nine units we bought we these in them. This one appears to have leaked on further inspection

I find it odd, this was as it turns out a H100i. According to the corsair website it does not support TR4 yet the H150i which has the same waterblocks surface area does, i don't get it. They are replacing the AIOs with CoolerMaster ML360s which are TR4 waterblocks.

Cheers for the replies guys
