For the heck of it I spec'd out a build from Dell and came up with the following up top.  Looks like Dell themselves are doing a little gpu scalping.

scalping.

can you give me your definition of this word here?

because a markup for a pre-built is normal, if you're unhappy about it then dont pay for it

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

by the way, can i buy 10 3060ti from you for $400 ea? because other places are charging $1200, and are out of stock

i bought some at $1000, but looking for more

i would buy a full system just for the GPU

I've already done it once to get a 3070, total system cost was $1300

Seems like you wanna bitch about what's generally a non-issue by pulling numbers out of your ass.

Dell most likely has half-decent, if not locked-down motherboards powering that i7, for example. Dell's not that stupid. That's reserved for HP.

You also aren't getting a legally licensed copy of Windows 10 for less than $100 if we're talking retail - which, unless you want to go down the volume licensor route, I will talk retail.

Power supply is definitely going to be one of decent quality. Dell's not known for wanting to skimp on that shit.

Of course, that's not exactly totaling out to a custom PC, but at the same time, it's one that comes with a warranty, actual support and a simple out-of-the-box experience. Businesses gotta make money. They don't barely scrape what they can get.

Check out my guide on how to scan cover art here!
