Rebuilt the Prebuilt. 3700X/2070Super > 5800X/3080. Also built my kid a PC.

Anyway after a 10 year hiatus of gaming on PC, I decided I needed to get back in last year. Dec 2019/Jan 2020. The last PC that I had that could game was also a Powerspec thatI had in like 2009, just a basic integrated desktop and I threw some cheap Nvidia GT something or other to Play Fallout 3 with mods. All of that stuff got stolen at the time, and I only bought basic laptops since. In fact I still daily drive a basic laptop.

So anyway after playing Fallout 4 and Skyrim on XBOX One with decent mods for a few years, I decided I wanted to get the real deal, and decided in winter 2019/early 2020 to build a PC to play modded Bethesda games. It just had to be much more powerful than the consoles at the time XBOX One and PS4, but not top of the line. That wasn't hard to do. At the time Microcenter had a huge sale on the Ryzen 2700X so I was going to build around that. Saw a prebuilt in a racing sim setup and it was the powerspec G706 on sale for 1300, and looking at the specs you could not build for that price so I ended up walking out with my second Powerspec, this time a gaming machine.

AGAIN it was on sale for $1299, and in Dec of 2019 this was more than a good deal.

I was very pleased with it, and as an aside, while most of these came with a Zotac card, mine had an EVGA, so that was sweet.

After immediately modding the hell out of Fallout and Skyrim, the news of the 3000 series and consoles came about, so I knew I had to upgrade kinda soon. I AM a console player and to me PC is for seeing games I'm interested in, in their best light, such as modded Beth games, modded GTA, or multplats that just look way better with all the sliders turned up like Cyberpunk. That is all PC gaming is to me. So since I was getting the new consoles and they would be at least equal with the setup I had, I had to get a 3080 or 90. If I'm going to have the consoles, I want my PC to be better, so that if *that* game comes, I can play it maxed out, and that game was Cyberpunk.

So anyway, I replaced the 2070 Super with the 3080, got lucky at Microcenter in October and waited 2nd in line, they got 2 cards both Gigabyte OC 3080. Of course you don't know what cards they'll get if any, so I took it, wasn't chancing it. Would have taken ay card, 3080 or 90, regardless the model or manufacturer. I was ready for maxed out Cyberpunk. I also added more matching Neo Forza RAM, bring me up to 32, added an extra 2tb HDD as well.

So anyway the Ryzen 5000 series is a thing, and I feel like I got a X570 board and a 3080, so I suppose when I can get one, I'm there. This just happened a few days ago, got a 5800X flashed my mobo slapped it in, Then I needed faster RAM so the next day I got Ballistix RGB 3600, then the following day, I'mlike nothing is original...might as well get a new MOBO, so out with ASRock X570 Pro 4 and hello ROG Strix X570. Then my RGB on my AIO and original fans was acting stupid by now, so I replaced that yesterday as well. Nothing is left except the case, and *GASP* PSU. Is it still a Powerspec? Would Microcenter honor the warranty? LOL. I'm definitely keeping the case, I like the sleeper aspect. Also being a car person, leaving the PC alone was just impossible.

As I said, I don't play "PC games" so I have a Logitech K400, all this needs to do is navigate launchers so I play games...100% on controllers. LOL.

Yep. Console gamer.

Also for XMAS of 2020 I built my kid a PC, she recently turned 6. This was for very light gaming but also when school work needs to be done on PC. My Powerspec's case is a Powerspec branded Lian Li Lancool 205, so I started with that in white. This is a i3 9100F with a 1660 Super, 512GB NVME, 8GB RAM. Since I have removed the X570 and 3700 this PC may get those parts if they don't sell fast. It would also get a GPU upgrade, 3060 or Ti. Right now its used for browser games and Lucky's tales on XBOX PC gamepass. It does what it needs to do. It's crazy, I built this in December and now you can't even get a 1660 Super.

I don't know why those last 3 pics are up. I uploaded them but didn't use them, and the even edited, and they are still there. IDK.

Got a 3080 Ti today. Bought a second 3080, and traded it for the Ti to someone wanting to mine. Sweet.

Also just so people know, I have a Microcenter near which is why it's even possible, there's no bots or scalping.

Infact without a MC close, there's no way I;d even want to be involved in PC gaming if its like this often.

I did the last thing I'm doing to this PC. Cables. I did buy strimmers, but once everything was ready, it turned out I was out of  power connections, since everything RGB uses its own damn box. Returned them ASAP and just went with basics. Kinda disappointing but whatever.

Pretty cool gaming pcs, though im not sure if the warranty will be honoured cause you literally rebuilt your pc xD

I can see why a car person would also tinker with their pcs cause if you tinker with cars might aswell tinker with pcs aswell
