Neither will Windows if you set your connection to "metered". You should be updating though, not just on Windows but on Linux or macOS too.

I wouldn't say it was ever midrange, it was an OK low end chip. As in, better than the pentiums you could have bought with the same money but worse than the i3 you could have gotten by spending a little more.

 

And as I mentioned earlier, while it's not impossible it's significantly harder and it depends on someone having done the work for you unless you really know what you're doing. If you can find a guide to get macOS working on FM2+ and a cheap AMD graphics card don't let me stop you from trying though.

Both are problems unless you know how to write a chipset driver for macOS.

Also, you'd be limited to High Sierra and older.

I honestly have no clue where you can acquire them, I just know that Big Sur still officially supports MacBook Pro models with Nvidia 6xx chips.
