Help me choose the RAM

flickofdawrist

Budget (including currency): -

Country: -

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: gaming / productivity

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I'll get a 5000 series AMD CPU, either a 5600x or 5900x, a B550-F STRIX motherboard and I need 32GB RAM. What is the optimal choice for my processor? I saw the Gamers Nexus video but didn't quite understand it & they talked about 5600x only. Any tips?

any ram from 3200 to 3600 should be fine.

personally i use 64gb tridentz 3600, and it's working great on my 5600x

There is no such thing as a bad PC, there are only BETTER PCs

I think any ram with frequency 3600mhz and low latency like cl16 will be just ideal

what about 2x16 / 4x8 ?

doesn't matter that much, as long as the 16gb sticks are dual rank.

you look in the technical specs or you search for the exact part number online

so would 3600mhz cl16 4x8 have the same exact performance of 2x16 with same specs? or it can still differ?

Doesn't really make that much of a difference. Speed and CL have more impact and quantity is boss.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

You can't really go wrong with any 3200MHz - 3600MHz CL16 kit.
