how much thermal conductivity is enough?

SAVE-12-HK

based on product discription, avg past is 4w/mk, better ones are 8w/mk and liquid metal claims 80w/mk

so is the diff that big for a avg user?

say r5 3600 with cm 212

how much better to expect?

basically any normal thermal paste is enough.

The limiting factor in cooling is the cooler itself so having a better thermal paste will only lower temperature spikes that occur before the temperature averages out again.

If you dont plan on hardcore overclocking you dont need any special sauce as your thermal paste.

Generally you should not use liquid metal for your standard CPU cooler. It is conductive and if it gets on your mobo it can short something. Like @Pixel5 said, any standard thermal paste will do just fine. Arctic MX-4 is a good value for example.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

Nevermind that spec. Realisticly with your cooler and CPU you won't notice a difference between the best and the worst thermal paste on the market. Just go with one that has good reviews. Arctic MX-4, Noctua NT-H2, Thermal Grizzly Hydronaut, etc...

Invest your money on a better air flow will give you better result than the thermal paste.
