Should I spend $100+ if it may not work...

So I used to have a pack of Corsair SP120 RGB PRO's, and when it was connected to my motherboard the iCUE software was not picking it up. When I gave the fans and controller to my friend, they worked perfectly fine with his PC.

I really want some new Corsair LL120 or some QL120. I just want to make sure that they will still work with my computer, because I DO NOT want to spend this much money on something that will not work.

Note that when I was using the SP120 controller the USB connecter was connected with an internal  USB hub, so that may have caused some glitches.

Is there an update that I should know about?

Is it something with the motherboard?

Should I not use the internal USB hub?

Thanks for any help!!

I don't see a problem with these specs, my guess would be the USB Hub. Some USB hubs do not work with RGB fans or RGB fan hubs.
