Whats the better deal? 2 PCs

Jays__

Budget (including currency): 1400

Country: USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Rust, Escape From Tarkov

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

I have a budget of around $1200-$1300 for a pc and around $550 for dual monitors.
I found a listing on Offerup for a prebuilt alienware r9 with 2080 super 32gb ram i7 9700 not sure what storage but its only $1200 + 2x 1440p 144hz 27 inch monitors would be $1750
I the other pc on craigslist. Its an ibuypower with asus rtx 2080 16gb ram and an i7 9700k w/ 1tb ssd. He said he would add a 34in alienware monitor all for $1700

what do i go for? :(

I mean I wouldn't mind building one but with current prices I feel like I'm getting a better deal on these ones.

i assume you don't see building your own pc as an option?

What would you recommend if I were to build one for around $1400

Problem is that a 3070 is extremly hard to get now. The main issue with these systems is the cpu being pretty underwhelming since it's just a flat 8core.

That and the alienware is known to use a blower 2080 which thermal throttles pretty hard. The Ibuypower rig is well a bit of a wildcard without known the other specs.

The 9700K doesn't offer a good upgrade path

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

if you're in a hurry to get a system up and running then just buy one of the systems you found

if you're willing to wait a couple of months then something like this would perform better

(feel free to edit my suggested parts list guys im not a god at building pcs)

Still kinda meh with the 9700k. What psu is it? Sometimes they cheap out on it which isn't good.

I would exchange the cpu and cpu cooler for a 10400f, and get a 3080, since OP is using this to game.

Not very great. At normal prices, that build would be worth under 1000 USD. Right now is a pretty bad time to buy a pc/components, especially graphics cards, because there's a huge shortages for basically all cards, and there's ginormous demand, for various reasons.

That is terrible

Only good thing about it is the 3070 everything else is worse.

Should have added that. Without the 3070 it's like a 450$ pc. With the 3070 it's + 650$ but very imbalanced.

hi, those games you play are the same that i play. My specs are above $1400 but then you will know what i use for good performance. rtx 3070, 16x2gb 3200mhz, i7 7700K, b250m bazooka. those are my specs but i dont recommend you buying an i7 7th gen now cuz it will get old soon ( im preparing for an upgrade ) But if you could u can get an I7 9th gen (i7 9700k) this is a very good one but you can go many other ways. for the gpu i recommend you buying maybe an rtx 30xx but if you are on a budget then an 2070super will do perfectly fine (my previous gpu worked perfectly on rust, eft, r6) but i see that u want to play on 1440p so then i was thinking about an rtx 3070/80 maybe. about the ram 16gb or 32 will do both fine!

Cooler is kinda crud and psu is a wildcard and varies from alrighty to bad it seems.

It's not a bad system but it also isn't the greatest. But with how the market is right now it's about as good as it gets really.
