No Audio over HDMI

Sport Driver

Hello everyone.

I built new PC yesterday and I have a problem of non working sound on my monitor. If I plug in headphones directly in the motherboard they are working but monitor speakers are not working. I have it connected via HDMI, tried both ports on GPU. Does Anyone have any idea what could be wrong? I have the sound driver from MOBO website. It doesn't give me option to choose monitor as my sound output device. In Device manager I can find it if I choose to show also hidden devices. I hope someone can help me.

You might have to go to the sound settings in the windows taskbar and select your monitor.

You cannot use HDMI audio and PC audio at the same time. It uses different channels.

If you plug the headphone, it will automatically switch to the PC audio.

Normally people hook up the headphone from the monitor / tv if they use HDMI.

It's old Samsung SyncMaster T27B300. It does have speakers if that's what you are thinking about 😅

I don't have anything else plugged in that could play audio at the moment.

Well I was trying to look up the manual, but it won't load lmao

I figured it had speakers. Maybe you might need to change a setting in the OSD

Well I managed it to sort it. Problem were the latest AMD drivers. I DDUed them and installed one version prior and now I have sound.
