B&O Beoplay H9 versus Sennheiser HD25-II

TheFlyingSquirrel

So weird comparison I know, however I make a lot more phone calls now when out of the house.

I got a good price for a H9 at 160GBP/$220 for a new pair of B&O Beoplay H9.   Will I notice a distinguishable change in sound?  E.g. are the H9 inaccurate?

If anyone can explain the graphs, guidance would be much appreciated.

Usage will be phone calls, commutes(trains, tube), and ps5.

The H9 will not be my main headphones at home, these are the Sennheiser 58x + JDS Atom + Khadas Tone Board

Your use case doesn't match the use case of the HD25. Cant recommend the B&O as have no knowledge but I can recommend not to get the Senns for your use case.

I have owned my Senn HD25-II for 6-7 years now.  I likely won't sell them.

I tried searching for the H9 on the forum, they aren't popular.

I know little about your requirements and less of the product's you listed.

What I do know is that B&O makes good products and so does Sennheiser.  I don't think I've heard about a Senn product that someone thought was crap though some of their higher end headphones can be critiqued for days among the elite's.  Wait....... I take that back.........  There is a Sennheiser dac/amp that gives a desktop knob and can accept audio out and mic in that is an abomination even to thing's marked with the "gamer" insignia.  But other than that both companies are known to be good so far as I've come across.  And at this point as neither of these are overly popular you are just going off brand reputation.

I will say though that I did click your links and noticed some graphs that my knee jerk reaction were they are garbage and fluff.  I'm not a graph person by any stretch of the imagination but those look like they are made up.  I will give my own personal spin and say ignore graphs in general, I could even say that most specs are fluff.  Instead I rely on what other's with first hand experience say.  I would say that you should redefine your requirements and ask for a suggestion based on hive understanding IE: what everyone agree's upon or has heard from people/resources they trust.

You want to make phone calls?  Well hell the Koss KPH30i is stellar for it's price and offers a mic and it becomes god tier with grado pads.  But you look like a hipster wearing them and they're dirt cheap.  Not to mention they don't reach the tier of a price to performance diety until they are turned up to a higher volume.  Call quality?  Never heard about it.

Give more information and research what others suggest.
