Are you running it from a HDD or SSD? Having it on an SSD could help considerably considering how much the game needs to load in new assets.

I get about the same fps, but I have worse hardware, Athlon x4 860k OCd to 3.9ghz, Zotac gtx 970 reference, and I'm running the game from the HDD my laptop had before I upgraded it to a SSD

What settings are you running it at? For me I turned up the resolution scaling to 2x, so my graphics card would get used more, as I'm being bottlenecked by the cpu

Make sure to stay away from the scalers under Advanced graphics options. They tank the FPS a lot. Also, grass quality eats up a lot aswell on the highest settings.

While GTA Online does tend to run worse in general than story mode there are a few settings to check that may help.  First, make sure MSAA is turned off completely. The implementation of MSAA is really poorly optimized in GTA V and it usually hits your FPS pretty hard even on higher end systems.  If you want to get rid of aliasing I would turn on FXAA and, if your PC has the horsepower to handle it, try turning going to the advanced graphics settings and try setting the frame scaling mode to x1.2 or so.  The frame scaler will still be a performance hit but should be less so than MSAA in my experience.  Second, if you have any settings turned on under the advanced graphics section try turning them down. These also tend to hit performance pretty hard.  Lastly, try turning down your reflection quality and making sure reflection MSAA is off. That affects performance quite a bit as well.  Hope that helps.

Gta v is very poorly optimised for ryzen CPUs. There is no real way to fix this issue.

I have a Ryzen 5 3600 and Rtx 3060ti and only get 40 to 50 fps on 1080p(Only online though) In story mode i get like 150 fps average on the in game benchmark.
