Not impossible, you just gotta keep hitting F5 on r/hardwareswap (which is what I'm doing)

You're not going to get full original price on USED computer parts.

The GTX 1080 Ti is holding value, due to the GPU shortage.

The Ryzen 1700X, ASUS motherboard, PSU, Corsair AIO doesn't hold value.

RAM? Break even?

$2000 for a Ryzen 1700X and a GTX 1080Ti? You are a lucky guy, no way that rig is worth $2000 second hand, just sell it straight away and wait until the prices go down if you want to upgrade.

Thats what I thought was willing to go down to 1500$ but I have gotten messages from  5 different people

Hey, if they are willing to pay a ripped off price, why lower it further.

If they try to haggle, maybe accept down to $1900, but pretend like you're doing THEM a favor.

And like others have said... If you bought that system, for $3000 USD... YOU got ripped off majorly. Unless you're counting in the cost of the monitor and peripherals into it and not just the tower.

What is the highest offer so far?

If someone is willing to pay the asking price, sure, why not.

It's like a car dealership selling a car for MSRP + $5000.

You as the buyer have the option to negotiate a lower price, buy at the MSRP + $5000, or walk away.

Same thing with your PC.

Honestly go along with the idiocy of people. People are desperate for a gaming system right now. I've sold rigs for over the price I got them for years ago it's silly.

That is decidedly not a bargain... Considering that it could have been matched or even beaten a year ago with $800 worth of parts. Well, that's a shortage for you, people will buy anything.

You guys have to realize the OP is in South Africa - you can't look at the used market in the US, since availability (especially locally) will be wildly different.

For Sale: Meraki Bundle

iPhone Xr 128 GB Product Red - HP Spectre x360 13" (i5 - 8 GB RAM - 256 GB SSD) - HP ZBook 15v G5 15" (i7-8850H - 16 GB RAM - 512 GB SSD - NVIDIA Quadro P600)

Couple of things. First, if you are gonna use USD as your currency, people WILL compare the prices to US prices. So do clarify your location if you are using converted prices. Secondly, the first point is important since markets, availability and pricing do matter, plus with US prices they don't have taxes added to price. So what you paid probably includes VAT+import fees, something US is just about to get better feel off.

Lastly, moved to New Builds and Planning where any thread discussing pricing of custom builds should be in.
