Any 10850k owners here?

Got a good deal on a new i9 10850k. BB price matched amazon and used my 10% off coupon so around $400 with tax for the cpu. Was wondering if owners here have overclocked it and had luck or if it's just a high temp mess.

I haven't even tried messing with it, honestly happy with it's stock speeds. Using a evga clc 280mm at stock it stays locked at 4.8-4.9ghz and 60c for temps.

No cpu mobo or ram atm

2tb wd black gen 4 nvme

2tb seagate hdd

Corsair rm750x

Be quiet 500dx

Gigabyte m34wq 3440x1440

Xbox series x

Congratulations! 4.8ghz seems pretty good as is.

I don't have any experience with this chip, but good luck!

Unfortunately you probably won't get much love for it here since it's not Ryzen.

I've had more issues with ryzen than I've had with intel over the last 13 years. Sure it isn't best bang for your buck but I prefer having on board graphics in case something happens too.

This is the first chip I didn't feel the need to overclock

When I went shopping in December, the 10850K was priced like they were trying to get rid of them. Where I live, the Ryzen 5800X was $50 more expensive, not yet available and two months later, they still do not have any 5800X in stock. That made for an easy decision.

The 10850K I got runs fantastic. Rock solid stable, dead simple to overclock, more overclocking headroom compared to Ryzen and zero issues running DDR-4000 memory with XMP settings. Definitely no regrets.

Here are a couple of recent threads with some interesting info about the unloved 10850K.  Reducing the default voltage can drop full load temps by 15°C to 20°C. Most review sites never mention anything like that. They test at default settings and reviewers seem to have no idea what these CPUs are capable of.

Here here. 10850k with no OC but enabled Asus MCE (Enabled, Remove all Limits). 4.8Ghz all core all day long under Kraken x63. 75C max on CBr23 and max 63C while gaming with this hot, humid equatorial climate.

I'm replacing my 4790k with a 10700K or 10850k in little over a month.

Thanks for the extra links and info on user experiences.

I'm a fan of low latency.

Right now even core count limited, my 4790K CPU to RAM latency is 44ns, 2400Mhz DDR3 with a 4.8Ghz CPU OC

Keen for doubling my core count and enjoying the next 4-5 years of another FAST CPU with specifically Low Latencies

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz
