Can you fix a blown power supply?

You can normally fix it, but if you haven't done anything similar I wouldn't advise taking it apart. Its probably cheaper to get a new one than paying someone else to fix it.

Hey, I live in South Africa where we get lots of power outages. One of these blew my PSU. I was wondering if there is a way to get it fixed or is it better to buy a new one? The supply was brand new so fixing would be preferable:) thx

A power outage shouldn't have damaged your PSU. What are the symptoms? If it's anything like the post I made a few days ago you're going to be scolded for thinking of fixing a PSU.

If you are able a true sine wave UPS would prevent any future problems.

If it's brand new, RMA it or return it to the store?
