Is there a cpu tier list, and does it get updated accordingly to the realeases of new products?

Go to solution Solved by minibois,

there probably is some tier list somewhere, but it's far more productive to look at reviews to see the performance you get with certain CPU's in certain (to you) applicable scenarios.

then you can decide based on your budget what the best option is.

For bang for the buck price to performance, I would recommend a Ryzen 5 3600, and for max performance a 5900x is the way to go if you can find one.

This may blow your mind but there are people who know lots about computers who don't post on the LTT forums at all - or even watch LTT videos!

However, based on how you responded in some of your other topics asking for advice, I'd say he'd probably be wasting his time trying to give you a recommendation.

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

this is quite a poor attitude you're posing towards another member of this forum.

age (of an account) does not equate to knowledge.

this user @NutronSe7enwas kind enough to want to give recommendations based on your preference and even did give good advice just above, which I think is a lot more than you would've deserved given the responses you've given them so far.

so let me just turn this around and give a warm welcome to @NutronSe7en! hope you do enjoy your stay on this forum 🙂

I'm not here to argue about what you did and didn't do. You can read back your posts and see the poor attitude you posed right away.

It's just a little bit disturbing that you see people calling out rude behavior as such as "gangbanging" and require others to calm you down.

If it has happened in the past that you get angry (need to be calmed down?) and if you have gotten "gangbanged" in the past here, you should try to reflect on how your posts come across to other users.

Now I am not sure how you use these words:

but if you mean to say "why do people always get mad at me?", that has not been my intention in these posts. these posts were just here to make you reflect in how your posts come across to others.

Back on topic: in the $150 price range, there are some interesting options, depending on what is available. i5 10400f, ryzen 3 3300x, ryzen 5 2600, etc.

I don't know if this might help, futuremark has a good relative list for GPUs and CPUs.
