PC not turning on unless I touch it

mekipekilainen

I have just built my first system and at first, everything appeared to work just fine. However, the other day when I went to turn on the computer it wouldn't boot unless I literally held my finger against it. So I pretty much have to touch it or else it will just turn off (the fans start ramping up but after a few seconds it turns off). I wasn't able to find anything about my problem online and if you have any suggestions or solutions please let me know.

Has the power cord been plugged in all the way? This could be a fire hazard and should be the first thing you check.

Did you connect the power switch wires firmly into the motherboard?

Check all you cables/wiring are secure and properly seated

I reinstalled all wires and for now it seems like it's working fine. However, it's possible that this issue might reappear again and if so I'll come back for help 😉
