I7 10700 or Ryzen 7 3700x

Go to solution Solved by Gohardgrandpa,

You'll be fine with the 10700, hopefully you got that while it was in stock

Which one would you choose to stream at 720p60, mainly play Valorant, Apex, Warzone and others (No Triple A Games).

If I go for intel I can use quicksync to live stream.

I7 10700 with a Z490 motherboard

Or

Ryzen 7 3700x with B550 motherboard

I found that the intel combo is 20 dollars cheaper than the Amd one. Love to hear from you guys comments.

720p at 60hz? Both of those chips would be way overkill. Get a 3600 and overclock it.

My System:

AMD Ryzen 5 3600XT • Noctua NH-D15 • MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk • 2x8GB G.skill Trident Z Neo 3600MHz CL16 • MSI VENTUS 3X GeForce RTX 3070 OC •  Samsung 970 Evo 1TB • Samsung 860 Evo 1TB • Cosair iCUE 465X RGB • Corsair RMx 750W (White) • ASUS VG27AQ • Logitech G810 Orion Spectrum • Logitech G502 Hero

Got any questions about my system or peripherals? Feel free to tag me (@bellabichon) and I'll be happy to give you my two cents.

PSA: Posting a PCPartPicker list with no explanation isn't helpful for first-time builders :)

I'm assuming you mean livestreaming, which in that case you can use your gpu video encoder I think. If you can use the gpu, then I would go with intel due to the slightly better performance, as it does not sound like budget is an issue for you right now

for streaming CPU doesn't really matter. Just use NVENC.

If the i7 includes a cooler, it's a better deal. If it doesn't, go with the 3700x

geometry is hard
b550 > x570

If it's an old one it won't work with the AM4 socket, sadly.

You're good then. I got the old 212 on my 4790k PC and I'm sad I can't use it with my 3700X.

If used NVENC, does it put stress to the GPU?

Either would work fine. The i7 will have an edge in gaming performance, the R7 will have an edge in multicore performance and multitasking. So either way you are giving something up.

I know what you mean ryzen have a bit of "fuss" but I think I go for intel.

Should I buy the cpu first because I found a deal below MSRP and 1 last stock left?

10700 is 313 dollars (I'm not overclocking)

10700k is 383 dollars

70 dollars diff, can put on a 32 gb ram or better gpu (assuming I can find one in MSRP and gpu prices skyrocking)
