My laptop doesn't detect the built-in camera

c0ndexus

So, today I was having online classes and I noticed the camera wasn't working. I even installed some programs that also didn't recognise the camera. Any ideas to help me?

What brand of laptop is it? I would check and see if your laptop has a switch or function key which disables the camera. A bunch of newer HPs have a hardware switch on the side which kills the camera.

Many laptops have an Fn-key on the keyboard plus some key will have a small webcam-icon: you have possibly accidentally pressed those buttons together to disable the camera. Pressing them together should turn the camera back on.

It's a Laptop Acer Aspire F5. I don't believe it has a feature like that.
