Bookmark/Favorite bar dropdown on mouseover (extension)

Hello 

I have already searched the interwebz a couple of times now without any luck but maybe anyone here knows; 

Does anyone know or have an extension that makes the bookmark/favorite bar show / dropdown when you mouseover it? 

I want it because it maximizes the space available on websites and I DO NOT like the fullscreen mode when browsing.

From what I can tell, it can't be done. Chromium doesn't allow it.
