Best laptop at $700-800 range

Hi everyone,

 

My girlfriend is trying to get a new laptop. Right now she is stubborn on trying to get a macbook air but i now there are better options on windows that can be better. Any recommendation on the best laptop she can get at a 700-800 budget? She is a teacher, so she will only using office/google drive, internet browsing and for watching netflix.

After some research, maybe the new macbook air with the M1 could be a smart choice after all? What are your thoughts?
