new motherbaords for old chips

was wondering how common it was to have old chipsets like intel pre Skylake ddr3 stuff rebuilt because the chips last longer than motherboards, there's an abundance of for example 2600ks but not as many boards I would assume. Also server cpus that can also fit into normal sized atx boards would be a big one.

oh seems interesting I guess they make there own bios chips then reuse broken boards chipsets.
