Is it any harmful to the motherboard if you jump start it with a screwdriver?

Hello. I wanna test my system before installing it to the case by jump starting it with a screwdriver. Can I damage the mobo doing that?

if you just touch the screwdriver on those pins it's fine. of course you shouldn't go poking around on the rest of your board, that could cause damage, but touching those pins is fine.

As long as you don't short other things while doing it: go ahead. There's obviously a bigger risk of unintentionally ramming your screwdriver into something.

It's fine, shorting the pins momentarily is what the power button do

But don't short anything else

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately
