PiJuice charge while in use?

tikker

I'm looking into creating a small self-sustaining weather monitor with my Pi 2B which is now just collecting dust. My idea was to get a PiJuice and a solar cell to keep it going without cables, but I couldn't find clear documentation about whether it will charge the battery while powering the Pi. Can it?

Scrap this idea. Buy a ESP-01 or directly a ESP8266 with battery as this has a order of magnitude lower power consumption.

That's just a WiFi chip right? I'll still have the point of running it wirelessly.

Seems like I misunderstood that little chip. So I hook up my sensor to the ESP8266 to make it a little low-power beacon and I just pull data from it every so often if I understand correctly? I'm looking into it more, but this sounds like a great alternative.
