6800xt running at pcie x16 1.1

raven123

Just bought a new msi rx 6800 xt gaming x trio. and when I check gpuz my card is running only at pcie x16 1.1. I already tried clicking the ? button for the render test for 1 min and still not chaging to pcie x16 3. I also run 2 game horizon zero dawn and cyberpunk 2077 and pcie still remains at pcie x16 1.1.

Ihave ryzen 5 3600

msi b450 gaming pro carbon ac

nvme ssd on the m2 slot near the cpu.

2x8gb skill trident 3200 cl16

also im using a coolermaster riser cable

You did not read it properly. Clearly is a PCIE 16x 4.0 @ 16x 1.1 So you are running at pcie 4.0

B450 doesn't support PCIe 4.0.

And that says it supports 4.0 and is running at 1.1.

fix it by removing the riser cable directly using the pcie on the board. Weird because I have a nvidiacard before and its using pcie 3 when Im using the riser cable

yeah ive seen that

some risers cant keep up with the speed of gen 4

but go to the bios and find the pci express mode

you can switch to gen 3 there
