5600x with a normal 3060

Is a 5600x too overkill(in all resolutions) for a normal 3060 i think that the 3600 is a way better option for a 3060

For gaming, yes. A 3600 (preferably overclocked) and a 3060ti/3070 is a better pairing, because most games are pretty GPU-bound these days.

depends on what you are doing. if this is just a gaming machine, the yes, the 5600x is overkill. the 3600 will do just fine in most games. but, if you are doing things like video editing or streaming, or other intensive tasks, then the 5600x is really good.
