Looking for cheap options for a computer that will strictly used to remote log-in.

I was wondering if anyone had either pre-build/laptop or spec recommendations for computer that would be strictly used to LogMeIn to a remote work computer? It is to be used my non-computer illiterate person so raspberry Pi is out of the question.

How cheap can I go before it will effect perform?

You can even go for a tablet if you want. Something like an iPad might actually be a good idea.

Any computer bought today will work for just that.   Plus the PI will work too, "the non-computer illiterate person" will only have to click on a shortcut to connect to remote desktop nothing fancy

I am not sure tablet would work to well since the screen size are on the low side. I guess "non-computer illiterate person" might be little strong they know how to turn on the computer and negative to the programs they use for work but that is it. Dose remote connections require much ram or CPU? Would current generations i3 be enough?
