ac component in output of psu

hey guys can anyone answer me this today i was checking my psu with mutimeter and i have found that it has ac component in its output 24 volt to be exact is it common to have ac component in output of psu

PSUs have multiple different outputs. Which two pins are you probing between?

there are two colour wires set yellow and black and i think there should be only 12 volt dc in them not 24 volt ac

So the multimeter is setup incorrectly? Or pehaps damaged in some way. 

 

12v and 5v Yellow and Red.

no i know how to use mutimete i'm talking about 8 pin gpu connector and i think ac component is in all eires i didn't checked it the only thing i want to know is it common to have ac component in ourput of psu because from my knowleadge the work of pc power supply is to convert ac in 12,5, 3 volt dc

did your pc power supply gives you ac output

No. it is rated for DC output only. Just like all PSUs.

did you have multimeter in your home if yes can you plz confirm that you are only getting dc output from gpu connector just set multimeter to ac volt and check if there is any value

set the meter dialar to ac 200v and check if you can

The multimeter jumps all over the place. It's not an AC current therefor will not have any type of accuracy or stability. 

 

The wall outlet measures 118v ac fairly steadily.
