i5-4460 with a GTX 1080

I'm selling my GTX 1080 to a guy who has a i5-4460. But since he is in my social circle i wanna be as helpfull as possible.

Will a i5-4460 bottleneck the 1080 at 1080p?

I'm under the impression it will. But since he is used to a GTX 960 he probably wont notice it. Its still a very great improvement. Should he uprade?

It most likely will. I mean he could use it and it would be an upgrade, but there would be a decent bottleneck for sure

That depends on what game we're talking about...some games will perform absolutely fine with that CPU and some won't...

pretty sure the 4th gen i5 CPUs cap out with the GTX 1070 for any resolution you wish to play/work in... it will definitely perform better compared to the GTX 960, but the GPU will definitely not be able to fully utilize its capability with that CPU...
