Motherboard chipped with screwdriver

eddykalex

Hi All,

I've just tried to build my PC and when I was trying to screw the Motherboard into the case, I accidentally chipped off a piece of plastic with some copper inside under the M.2 socket. Is this a big deal? will my Motherboard still work? I have an X570 Asus Crosshair VIII Hero.

Regards,

Eduard

have no idea but it might boot without detecting the M.2 socket 3 if you put one it there.

Looks like an inductor, it's likely that something will not work without it but it's not really possible to know what. Since it's close to the m.2 socket it might be related to it... but maybe not.

Since you still have the part you could have someone solder it back on.

Don't use it until it is soldered back.

Good advice, but if OP solders it,make sure it's soldered with the correct polarity in mind.
