Do you think that his machine could run Far Cry 4 at any configuration at at least 30fps?

DanWhite

My laptop specs:

CPU: i7-2860QM

RAM:8GB

GPU:Quadro 3000m

Storage:SSD

So, i tried to run Far Cry 4 a while ago and it was running at like 15 or 20 fps maybe at minimum settings and low res, well maybe the fps were not that low but i think they were pretty low anyway so, i want to know, do you guys think that i could run the game at at least 30fps with any configurations or any tweaks? thank you in advance, thats it

No offence, Dan, but when you are at the point where you are playing at 720p (or less), on the lowest settings, at barely 25 fps, is it really worth it?

Have you not considered trying Stadia or something?

What's your internet like?

Fair enough, I totally understand.

I thought I'd ask though...and your internet is more than sufficient.

I have a machine of very similar spec (HP DV6, i7 2670qm, 8GB DDR3, Radeon 6770M 2GB DDR5, SSD) and it really struggled with FC4 when I tried it recently. Although, it seemed to be the CPU not GPU that was keeping it under 30fps. Starting at 720p low I found I could raise settings a bit and add Reshade fx with no big drop in fps, but not even minimum settings at super low custom res would make it really playable. Far Cry games are just really hard on the CPU I think, and these old Sandy Bridge mobile quads are lacking in clock speed :(

Powerspec 1530 (Clevo PB50DF2) ~ i7 10875H ~ RTX 2070 Super 115W ~ 32GB DDR4 ~ 2x 1TB NVMe ~ 2TB 5400RPM ~ 1080P 240hz matte IPS

Gigabyte G1 GA-970-SLI ~ FX 8320 @ 3.3Ghz, 1212mV ~ 16GB DDR3 ~ Radeon 570 4GB ~ 512GB NVMe ~ 2x 1TB HGST 7200RPM

Xtras ~ Dell 22" 1680x1050 matte IPS monitor ~ Logi M705 mouse ~ PowerA Fusion Pro Xbox One controller ~ Sony XB950N1 headphones ~ Epson V700 film scanner

Streaming Setup ~ OBS Studio with AMF encoding ~ iVCam bridged to LG G6 ~ Focusrite Scarlett Solo interface ~ TONOR condenser cardioid mic

What do you mean? the i7-2860qm was at like 30% usage when the quadro 3000m was at 100% all the time, are you saying that that is not GPU bottleneck?

ah, that info changes things. Custom resolution (like 960x540) with CAS and AA in Reshade might help?
