Resolution In Game Is forced at 4k

I have a Vivobook S15 with a Mx150 and an i7 8th gen and I am connected to a acer VG240Y V monitor. When ever I open games the resolution of the monitor goes to 4k (I check from the OSD) and the fps drops to 30. I have my drivers up to date and no matter what I do in game it stays at 4k and is unusable. I currently play at borderless window since fullscreen gives the above mentioned problem but the performance drop is significant. This problems happens in some games like Valorant but in CS-GO fullscreen works fine. I have tried everthing from messing around ingame to the control panel and stuff inbetween. Any help would be appreciated, thank you!
