[Question] VDG connector, but where?

Lastronaut

Thanks for clicking, I've just bought a EKWB 240mm D-RGB AIO and it features a female VDG header plug... but my motherboard doesn't have a VDG header? The VDG plug is wired into a 3 pin 5v ARGB female header plug, is the VDG plug just there for those who don't have a 5v ARGB header?

Pic for reference:

Having since read the manual (duh) I've learned that it's just an alternate way of powering the RGB on the pump head. Again, thanks for reading.

The VDG used to be Gigabytes own style of connectors. Based on what Corsair uses for their ecosystem I think. Current gen Gigabyte boards use the normal fat connector. Probably for the best if there ever going to be standardization in RGB.
