Monitor is not actually turning off

katates

Hey guys I have Acer X35, the problem i am having is that when I turn off monitor via its button, the blue light goes off but screen is not turning off its like brightnes at -200. I can see if I look closely and even move windows etc. so its not static. Windows also detects monitor as active. I tried safe mode. I connected macbook via hdmi even that also have the same problem.

I factory resetted monitor twice, enabled/disabled deep sleep, quick start, sdr variable backlight. Tried with hdr on/off. But result is same.

I have used Acer Display Widget, ClickMonitorDDC, ScreenBright in the past could they break my firmware? I've also uninstalled those.

You can see reddit logo if you look closely.

Looks like a power saving mode maybe?

I tried everything in the OSD. Manual says amber light on power saving, blue light when active, no light when powered off. So when i power it off it has no light. But i can still barely see the screen.

I also tried this.

Unplugged everything from monitor, except power cord and displayport.

Turned off monitor, I still can see the video playing.

Then i unplug displayport (only power cord plugged in) and I still can see a static image, the last thing showed on the screen.

Then i plugged in without turning the monitor on, video played on.
