is an Asrock B460M Pro4 with a i5 10400f good? or should i go ryzen

Go to solution Solved by Prodigy_Smit,

Depends which Ryzen and how much it costs all together.

If you can get a R5 3600 or R5600x聽with a mobo and the same amount of ram for the same or a bit more expensive go for that.

If not the 10400f is a good buy.

I have gtx 1660 super OC already, as well as a Thermaltake 600w power supply, 500gb crucial ssd, 1tb Seagate hdd聽and a case.

I also need a 16gb kit of ram and I'm聽planning to get a new case.

(budget of about 500 bucks AUD for CPU, MOBO and RAM)

I will recommend an NHu12s (or an NHd15 (maybe)) for your PC build. Quote or @聽me @Prodigy_Smit聽for me to see your replies.

You need to quote people to for them to see your responses.

The 3600 is not worth 100$ more than the 10400f so stick with the i5.

The quote thing again.

The b460m pro4 is a good board.

it looks solid but depends on how fast ram you can get

this MB Supports DDR4 2933MHz

but honestly ~3000Mhz is enough unless you have like a expensive pc with fastest GPU on planet..

and thats probably the only thing there when it comes to budget PC

Looks solid if the CPU can handle the speed of GPU there should be no problem

Only z boards allow you to use faster RAM than Intel spec.

For the i5, that's 2666mhz.

I've seen articles that day the i5 and below won't power limit throttle on any series board, even h410.

So consider that
