The Witcher 2 Coming to Linux via Steam

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings is now available for download on Linux via Steam, however, you can't play it yet.

The developers haven't said anything so far but there is an entry in the SteamDB for Linux executables and the the depot for Linux is marked as beta. I will edit this post when, or if, the developers release a statement. Until then you are free to make assumptions if you wish.

Everytime I hit my funny bone unexpectedly it's like my own personal Pearl Harbour.

Nah! That news is different. They were rumours, but now it is officially available for download, though still in pre-Beta stage (and missing some binaries) but still it is now officially available for download.
