pc keeps black screening after cpu overclocks

hi my pc keeps on black screening randomly after i put on very mild overclocks to my cpu. it blackscreens but does not turn off just looses display output though i do suspect it is the fact that i have a 500w power suply and it might be too low for my system specs. 

my specs are:

i7 4930k 

asus sabertooth x79 

16gb ddr3 

gtx 980ti msi gaming x

500w bronze efficiency power supply

I'd suspect that power supply is at fault here, its just not capable enough to for a 4930K and 980Ti. Go with a 650/750W 80+ Gold rated PSU of at least Tier B or higher from the PSU Tier List.

Not much point buying a whole new PSU in the hopes of squeezing a few more fps out of a i7-4930k. Might as well put the money towards saving for a cpu/mobo/ram upgrade

OP should buy a new PSU regardless if he is going to build a new platform depending on the age of his 500W bronze PSU. His PSU may be out of warranty and as a result, definitely replace the PSU.

yeah i will go out and buy a new power supply then if it doesn't work i will replace it
