i'd get rid of it. i was going to say that as long as you're not starting to see re-allocated sectors it should be alright, but that's out the window

kiss your drive goodbye and pack it off to a recycling centre. i strongly suggest you format the drive beforehand, or if you can't be arsed (like me) then open the drive up and scratch the disks up in it. just for safety.

im planning to display the drive like what i did to my membrane keyboard, it a reminder that they served me for years lol, oh and whats the diffrence between ralocated errors and realocation errors

https://crystalmark.info/en/software/crystaldiskinfo/

It's a utility that gives you info about your drives - their health (for HDDs it's "good" or "bad", for SSDs it gives you percentages), their temperature, among other things.

See what it reports on your HDD health.

Those errors are bad,buy a new drive and clone the old one unto the new one.

two names same thing probably. hdd's dying and it's relocating the data away from bad areas and marking them as unusable

i ran victoria scan and it remaped 3 out of 4 sectors, one of the sectors was not remapped cuz i forgot to press the remap option while it was scanning

I wonder when my HDDs will die?
Especially my 250GB one that's SATA II.

CrystalDiskInfo still reports "good".

once the sectors start going, it's a one-way street and the drive failure will slowly accelerate in pace. that just buys you more time to get data off it.

well atlest i backed up my 2gb memes folder

It's at least 10 years old at this point - probably 13-15.

It doesn't do much though.

4GB HDD from 1996.

Works fine.

3.2GB HDD from 1999 is dead - but I accidentally knocked it over while it was running.
