Front panel PWR_LED - MB pin volts?

Hi,

I want to built my PC power switch to bottom of my desk, to make it "invisible". Idea is that to turn the PC on, you have to look under the desk or know exactly where the button is hidden.

Switch design like this:

I need to know what model to buy, since there are many LED voltages available (3.3, 5, 6, 12, 24,....).

Switch will be connected to PWR_SW and led to PWR_LED pins.

MB is MSI B450 Mortar Titanium, but PWR_LED voltage information is not mentioned in any specs, datasheets or manuals on MSI websites or manual that came with MB.

Thanks a lot.

Try a voltmeter. If you're doing things like that, you should have one.

Motherboards typically have the LED resistor built in already, so go with 3.3 so that the one in the switch doesn't reduce brightness much more.

I'll borrow one from work and try that.

I count on that, 3.3 is my first choice. But better to ask first, if someone has already done this.
