Upgrades for new (older) PC?

I'm getting my mom's desktop because she uses a Chromebook now. It's an HP Pavilion p7-1534 which is a huge upgrade from my Gateway E4610D lol. It's completely stock and has an AMD A8-5500 APU with AMD Radeon HD 7560D graphics and 8 gigs of DDR3 ram. I don't want to pay for a new motherboard so could I get some recommendations for upgrades? I find the best CPU is the AMD A10-5800K but I may be wrong so I'm asking here. Thank you in advance.

To do what? It's an office computer at this point that can play minecraft and the a10 won't change that at all. It's simply put too old and low end to play any new games if that is what you are wishing to do.

It depends what you are using it for.

If it for an office, then you dont need to upgrade

If its for gaming, mabye a graphics card????

Im not sure about swapping out the CPU tho

The best FM2 CPU is the A10-6800K, though it might not support it.

It won't do much for you though - the FM2 platform, to put it bluntly, sucked.

What do you plan to do with it? It's an older system, and upgrades aren't going to help it game a lot. You could put a GPU in there, but I wouldn't put much money into a different CPU.

Main System: Phobos

AMD Ryzen 7 2700 (8C/16T), ASRock B450 Steel Legend, 16GB G.SKILL Aegis DDR4 3000MHz, AMD Radeon RX 570 4GB (XFX), 960GB Crucial M500, 2TB Seagate BarraCuda, Windows 10 Pro for Workstations/macOS Catalina

Secondary System: York

Intel Core i7-2600 (4C/8T), ASUS P8Z68-V/GEN3, 16GB GEIL Enhance Corsa DDR3 1600MHz, Zotac GeForce GTX 550 Ti 1GB, 240GB ADATA Ultimate SU650, Windows 10 Pro for Workstations

Older File Server: Yet to be named

Intel Pentium 4 HT (1C/2T), Intel D865GBF, 3GB DDR 400MHz, ATI Radeon HD 4650 1GB (HIS), 80GB WD Caviar, 320GB Hitachi Deskstar, Windows XP Pro SP3, Windows Server 2003 R2

* Ram is the easiest upgrade, go for 16gb

* Then get an SSD is your don't have one already. Its big performance boost.

* For GPU maybe an NVIDIA 1060

* Max supported CPU is the Quad-Core A10-5800K

I would upgrade the cost it not that much, everything is rather cheap apart from GPUs at the moment.

Upgrade everything else and wait for GPU prices to go down.

That is the best chip the motherboard supports.

A couple ideas,

Clone the OS and get a sata SSD. That will improve the system a lot.

Then, if this board has a PCI_E slot, find a dedicated graphics card.
