Does thermal compound expire? Specifically Arctic Silver 5?

I have a tube of Arctic Silver 5 that I’ve had for about 5 years now. I’ve kept the cap on it throughout its storage in my cold and dark garage. The paste still comes out and has the consistency of peanut butter, but I’m wondering if it’s too old to use.

If it's still damp i think it's still good.

If its separated and looks watery/runny give it a squirt and see if it clears up, if it still looks bad don't use it.
