Is it ok to install a new cpu when my motherboard has overclock settings set for my old cpu?

So the pins on my ryzen 5 2600 broke so I'm going to replace it with the ryzen 5 3600, will there be any issues as the overclock settings (4GHZ 1.35V) on my old cpu are still enabled on my motherboard : asrock b450 steel legend

If i do I cant because my cpu is broken so what should I do?

you can usually reset the BIOS on a motherboard by taking out the battery for a little while. that should reset any overclock settings you have applied.

The settings will be reset because a new CPU will be detected but if you want to be 100% sure pop out the CMOS battery for a minute and put it back in before installing everything.

is it safe to remove the cmos battery

uh huh, only clear the CMOS before installing the new CPU, unplug the power supply and remove the button battery on the mobo for a minute and it'll revert all of the settings to default.

is it safe to remove the cmos battery, so it should cause no issues after doing it?
