Anyone know anything about the ASROCK B550M-ITX?

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B089VYCHMG/ref=crt_ewc_title_srh_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

Didn't see it in the tier list. Looking to put a less expensive CPU on it. It's for a secondary PC mini-ITX living room build.

I'm having a rough time to be honest. Trying to put together a PC with leftover parts for the kids to use.

I have:

Gigabyte P750GM PSU (got stuck with this one, it's BNIB lol)

120GB Sandisk SSD

2TB 3.5" HDD

2x8 Corsair Vengeance LED 3200

ASUS RX 570 4GB

Thermaltake Versa H15

Bouncing around between an i3-10100 w/ASRock B460M-ITX/AC on the low end ($115 CPU, $95 motherboard) and a Ryzen build.

I would actually prefer to go with the Ryzen build, but while there's plenty of good motherboards, there just aren't any good CPU options. All available CPUs at this point are just old. That's fine, but they're old AND expensive. At least with Intel, the i3 is cheap. Same can't be said for the Ryzen chips. If the 3100 existed in reality, I'd get that. But here we are.

Not really married to mini-itx boards, but finding microatx wifi boards didn't really come up with much in-stock either.

What do you think? Spend ~$140 more on the Ryzen 5 3600/B550, or just get this i3 system?

Ideally I would be upgrading my 8700k system to one of the new Zen 3 chips....but again.....availability is just shit, no local MC stores near me, and I'm unwilling to pay a scalper.

I was thinking the $260 spent today for this system and just hanging onto the 8700k for a few more years made more sense than overpaying on a Zen 3.

@Mister Woof I was just at this impasse.  I went with Ryzen 5 3600 used on Ebay for under $165, and ASRock B450m Pro4.  I tossed around the idea of Intel, (Im building this rig for the living room/kids to get them off my computer lol) but in the end value wise I decided Ryzen would likely last me longer, and the board was on sale for $65 at the time.

I WANTED a Ryzen 5 5600.

My question - what is your use case?  Light gaming?  Nothing more needed then the i3.  I almost went i3 as well but the kicker was I have a addiction to "thread" count lol so I went with the Ryzen.

Man this is a tough one - Id almost say Intel because it would be more than enough to drive that 570.

1080p/60hz gaming. The RX 570 won't be in there forever, but i think even with a more modern GPU later on down the line, the i3 should manage it fine. It's being hooked up to a 4K TV (run at 1080p).

Mostly light Steam games, but potential for newer games with a GPU upgrade once things get less crazy.

Mostly I'm mad I have leftover parts, and mad at myself for not buying cheap Ryzen parts or Intel parts when they were on sale over the past several months.

Things that stick out:

$259 9700k

$279 3700x

$159 3600

$85 1600AF

Like these leftover parts...they are making me legit angry

Im pretty sure we have been having the same emotional roller coaster over the last couple weeks then LOLOL.  (was originally going with a R9 Fury X from the parts pile, picked up an RTX 2060 instead the other day because...F GPU prices, and its also hooked up to a 4k TV, but I can downscale to 1080p...all the things you said LOL)

EDIT - with that being said, I agree on the i3 btw, I ALMOST did it but then the fanboi in me wouldnt do it.
