QHD monitor Display with Laptop

Hi all, I'm here to ask a question regarding my new 75hz QHD monitor. First off I already connected the monitor up to my ASUS Laptop and I just want to know if I'm getting the best out of the QHD resolution on my Monitor. I successfully connected the monitor to my Laptop with the HDMI cable and everything seems good so far. I fear that my Laptop lacks the horsepower to display the QHD resolution at it's best. I don't play games or anything too demanding, most of it is web searching and watching videos. I do experience lag but that is an issue I had with my laptop for some time now. Thanks in advance.
