Will a rx 570 work with a 350w psu

I have a pc with an rx 560, i7 870 and 8 gigs of ddr3 1333 ram.

The cpu is old but the graphics card still bottlenecks it a lot so im thinking of switching to an rx 570 because in my country they are around 80$ while a gtx 1650 is 200$.

Problem is i have a hipro 350w psu and im wondering if it will work as it only has 1 6pin connector.

if the rx 570 has 6pin it will work. but that psu is not really good. sicne you probably have very low budget the rx 570 shoudl work without swapping the psu.

Nope, i7 870 is a 95W cpu, RX570 is advertised to use up to 300W. Those two alone use more than 350W, plus you have a very dodgy power supply.

well while 570 is 300w gpu it does not use that much. it can only use 150w from the slot and the 6pin.

 

Edit: was wrong 6pin can deliver 150w on most cases.

It might sustain 150W constant load but I am certain that it peaks a lot more than that.

I edited my post. it can use 225w with 6pin and slot. so that 350w psu might not be such a good idea.

I have a rx570 strix running with a ryzen 3100 on a bequiet 400W psu no problem at all. I think 350w should be borderline, but OK, however as mentioned previously, the quality of your psu may well be the issue.

Will it be better to opt for a rx 470 as it has a 125w tdp and peaks at around 220?

buy the faster card, you can always upgrade the PSU later, or set a power limit if it causes issues.

I've personally run a RX570 on a i5 Dell with its stock 300w PSU without issue.
