The 10600k since it is so much cheaper

I will recommend an NHu12s (or an NHd15 (maybe)) for your PC build. Quote or @ me @Prodigy_Smit for me to see your replies.

I'd proably go with 10600K, considering the price difference, also.

10600k should be compared with a 3600 (non x) or maybe the upcoming 5600.

You have to consider that you have to add in the cost of having a Z board.

Where you can use a cheap B board on the ryzen.

still a good 100 euro cheaper , than getting the ryzen 5600x.

money wise its not much of a problem for me. but I dont know it its worth 100e for 5% improvement.

I would go 5600x you get PCIE 4 and arguably better MOBOS and a newer better memory controller.

not worth it. 10600k is very good with paired with 3200mhz ram. it will not match 5600x  but it is stil good pcu after all.

Why people go Ryzen is because its platform is generally much cheaper. Cheaper cooling and motherboards for example.

Yeah, mobos are cheaper, but for the price difference much faster RAM could be bought for 10600k.

A decent Z490 board would be ~€30 more than a decent B550, and the price difference between the two CPUs seems to be a bit more than €30.

The "newer, better memory controller" is the same as what's used in Ryzen 3000 CPUs.

The cheapest B550 is Asrock Gaming 4 (very decent board) which is $90, the cheapest Z490 board is around $160, that's $70 deficit.

You factor in the IPC benefit, higher memory speed & the upgrade path, it's still worth it.

I'd maybe call it decent by B450 standards.

The Z490-A Pro and Prime Z490-P are generally sitting at around $150. There are cheaper Z490 boards, though they're also significantly worse, so I wouldn't even bother considering them.

I don't get what you mean by higher memory speed, the upgrade path is something to take note of if OP will actually need 12/16 cores down the line, and the real-world performance benefit of the increased IPC is certainly not large enough to warrant over €100 more.
