Any good small speakers

Its not good but its not the worst thing in the world for 10 dollars.

I googled "USA Speaker Drivers" and found a few sites who sell them. The speaker component in a speaker is called a driver. So using that wording will be more beneficial for results.

You don't have the budget to get multiple drivers. So you couldn't do a tweeter and a woofer (high frequncy driver and low frequncy driver) so make sure the drivers are full range (does both high and low).

Few other tips for ya.

You want the box which the speakers are made of to be as strong and hard as possible

Maybe consider adding a port. Thats where you have a whole in the speaker which lets sound out. This increase the volume of certain frequencies dependant on the size of the hole.
The size of the emptiness inside the speaker affects the sound.
Budget dependant you could add a bass reflex. which is similar to a speaker drive but it has no electronics and moves dependant on another drive from the compression. (the box has to be air tight for this to work)

Looking forward to seeing some photos of the finished project.

i am trying to make smallish book shelf speakers for engineering and i realized i know nothing about speakers any help would be greatly appreciated

The challenge here is that "good" in terms of audio, is highly subjective.

I have a small set of Dell speakers, nothing fancy, but they work fine and I am satisfied with them. Someone else, to whom audio is important, will say they are terrible.

So it's going to be difficult to suggest a "good" set of speakers, because your view of what is good, and my view of what is good, is almost certainly bound to be different.

NOTE: I no longer frequent this site. If you really need help, PM/DM me and my e.mail will alert me.

A European audio company who has shady company practices. But also very cheap.

They have a few products which are really good well designed and a few products which are clearly copyright stealing designs from rivals and then some products are just cheap rubbish which need avoiding at all costs.

If your after cheap audio products there alright to pick but don't expect the product to last and their customer support ranges from okay to terrible depending on your luck.
